I can appreciate that. I'm similar in that my retention is better if I "reproduce" the information (so in my case, either typed or written). Generally if it's just notes from a meeting (as opposed to research) I'll have the conference call full screen with a notepad or email window in an unobtrusive corner and type what I need in there. Then clean/rephrase right after the meeting (while it's still fresh) and then into OneNote or word or whatever for processing later. If I have to write it down (like when I'm in a car), it's a different story (I keep a stack of scrap paper and pen there.... when done, take a photo and then email myself) but everyone does things differently. I was just curious as you mentioned the notes part and possibly treating yourself.
