3 months is not a long employment and training process. This is almost nothing. And peak times are highly predictable in this industry. I totally believe airports are just shaving passengers of every possible dollar - airlines are in a highly competitive market, airports are not. This has been clear for years, but we have not figured out a better way to make them effective (I start to believe that operating them as public companies, similar to other utilities, could lead to better cost-profit distribution, and lower environmental footprint).
