My recent experience also seems to be consistent with others, as it took 6 days after purchase for the credit to post.

I needed to purchase two round-trip HNL-OGG tickets that totalled $128 per person (outbound leg was $84 per person and return leg was $44 per person). So to maximize the chance I would be reimbursed by the airline fee credit, I purchased two one-way flights rather than purchasing it as a single round-trip flight (moreover, I actually purchased on different days because at the time, I wasn't sure yet which outbound flight fit our schedule best, but I wanted to at least lock in the dirt-cheap return leg). Here are the results, including timeline:

Return leg:
May 11 - purchased 2x $44 tickets on the same itinerary, which posted immediately as a single pending charge of $88
May 13 - pending charge removed and 2x $44 charges posted with a purchase date of May 12
May 16 - needle on meter moved to $88 used with $112 remaining
May 17 - 2x $44 credits posted (dated May 16)

Outbound leg:
May 13 - purchased 2x $84 tickets on the same itinerary, which posted immediately as a single pending charge of $168
May 15 - pending charge removed and 2x $84 charges posted with a purchase date of May 14
May 18 - full $200 airline fee credit reported as used
May 19 - $84 and $28 credits posted (dated May 18)
