This seems like a particilarly bad idea. If the lender somehow messes up and allows you fraudulent claim, your are opening yourself to to be sued for the amount you owe plus the hotel's legal fees.
Also Hyatt's terms very clearly say that they can close your account and confiscate all your points for failure to pay an outstanding hotel bill (which is what this is)
Sorta begs the question though, doesn't it? If the issuer messes up and allows the merchant's fraudulent charge, then the property is opening itself up to be sued for its fraudulent amount plus my legal fees.
