Downvote this to hell if you want, but I just want to give a shout-out to DL for actually making a website that is intuitive and easy to use, fast, and highly functional—at least regarding the transactions I did yesterday and today, and in comparison with AA’s and especially BA’s clunky, slow, and error-prone websites. Yesterday I searched for and booked award tickets for myself and
Mr. travelmad478 from MSY-CHS-MSY. DL’s website immediately let me know, via a cleverly designed matrix graphic, what dates were available and what the lowest price was on each date. Does AA or BA do this? No. I booked the tickets very quickly, then realized this morning that I wanted to change the return date. I didn’t have to cancel the whole booking to change that one thing, nor did I have to call and spend hours on hold to do it, as I would have on AA or BA; I was able to make the change to only the return flight online, very quickly, with no worries that the original outbound would get booked out from under me if I gave up the ticket and re-booked the whole thing.
This functionality may be old hat to you frequent DL flyers, but to my sorry OW self, it was a revelation. I am giving credit where credit is due. I’m sure there are other problems with the DL website that people will chime in about, but I don’t want to hear about them right now
