At times in recent weeks AMS has resembled a cross between a zoo and a lunatic asylum, with passengers stuck for hours in various lines for check-in, immigrations and security, or even to just enter the terminal building.

If you are arriving at AMS from a secure country you can proceed directly to the (underwhelming) lounge or your departure gate. If not, you will first have to go through security.
