Situation:- I booked a codeshare from BSB-MCO-XXX where XXX is within the United States.
- BSB-MCO is operated by Gol (G3) but booked with an AA flight number
- MCO-XXX is operated by AA (with AA flight number) and within the United States
- This is all for the same day on day flights with no overnight at any intermediate points. (Yes it's a long day!).
What happened:- The flight from MCO-XXX has been dropped from the schedule and now that segment is missing from the itinerary.
- The next MCO-XXX is the next day which I would like to avoid due to hotel costs, etc...
What I am asking for:- Change the itinerary from BSB-MCO-XXX to BSB-MIA-XXX which would get me in about the same time.
- BSB-MIA is also operated by GOL. It has an AA code share number but I can't find it on AA.com
When I called the agent was unable to shift the flights via MIA as AA7841 BSB-MIA is showing as "0" and can't be booked. The agent was also unable to change it to the direct Gol BSB-MIA flight (G3 7748). The agent was very sympathetic but the only options she could offer was from GRU or GIG which adds another 5+ hours and also changes it to a red eye from Brasil to MIA (or DFW).
Is my request to change the Brasil-US leg unreasonable? If not any suggestions on who to talk to? I asked about a liaison but the agent didn't really say anything and I didn't want to push. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
TIA!
