Has anyone gotten a notification that your room type was upgraded to a suite but once you got to the room it was a standard room?

Stayed at a Courtyard in Geneva NY and when I did mobile check-in a couple days before, I was surprised that it said they upgraded me to a 'suite' for my 1 night stay. Cool. Essentially these rooms just add a sofa bed, but the extra space would be nice I suppose. There was some marathon that weekend and they were booked up so I figured they were maneuvering rooms around, I only have Gold status.

Once we got there, we walked into the room (mobile key) and it was not a suite. Not only was it not a suite, but according to the evacuation plan it was even smaller than a standard room lol. I didn't bother to ask the FD because it was 1 night and we would only be in the room to sleep. Just curious if this has happened to anyone before. Of course, when going into the app I found no evidence of being upgraded and my room type in the app said standard king, so not much I could have fallen back on if I were to talk to the FD anyway.
