So I have two seat coupons that I won in the AAdvantage 40th Anniversary contest last year. They expire in June. I went to apply them to an existing reservation. I select the MCE seats, and say that I want to pay with cash. It tells me that I have eligible seat coupons that I can apply. I click "choose coupons" and select the two coupons I want to apply. Then on the next screen I get this lovely message:
Based on your selection, we applied 0 of 2 coupons.
Am I doing something wrong here, is it broken, or is it erroneously telling me they're eligible when they're really not eligible?
I also notice that it says "preferred seat coupon" and not MCE seat. Does that mean they're NOT applicable to MCE seats?
Preferred seats would not be MCE seats. They are usually standard window or aisle seats towards the front half of coach that AA will normally charge for. On the seat map you should select anything in green and it should work.
