To answer other question above, QR proactively scheduled us on QR725 but on a different day that we could not make work (a day earlier). I called QR to rework to flights I preferred and they had no issue doing that. Caveat - these return flights were booked directly with QR.
If I had booked through AA, I would have tried QR first but likely would have ended up having to call AA. From past experience, that would have been a pain but about the only way to do it. The AA agent would probably have called their agent at QR - of course, after trying to move me to a AA/BA alternative
