the result was the deployment of the slide. At home base this was bad. On a remote Greek island, worse. On a remote Greek island on a plane that had taken off with some slides inop per the minimum equipment list very very bad as the plane was then stuck until a new slide arrived with a team to fit it.

it was a sackable offence !
