LM Étoile is another big-box hotel [slightly larger than the HR at 1025 rooms vs. 995] but was renovated in 2016/17 so it's still on the fresher side of hotel redesigns. Rooms are a bit snug, but from what I hear and know, it's a reasonable four-star that gets the job done. Granted, I'm riding out my Ambassador status with Marriott and really want to chase down Hyatt nights to secure Globalist for next year, but all the other Hyatt options are outrageously priced.

As per this review from May 10th on the hotel's dedicated FT thread:

"edit: No mask mandate in Paris any more when I was there. I still saw most staff wearing masks (if I recall correctly). Other than that felt quite similar to a pre-COVID stay.

Had a 2-night stay here in early April and would summarize as value for money being ok (considering it is Paris). Not disappointing but also nothing standing out.

Booked entry-level (corporate stay) room and got probably just that (first stay ever in this hoteland I did not inquire about an upgrade but have seen a lot of hotels upgrading due to status proactively - I am Platinum+ if that helps).
Room was pretty small (some might argue that this is Paris but still…) and pretty worn but clean. It looked as over the years every door on the hallway had to be forced opened at least once (no issue, just funny to see). Comfortable bed though.
Breakfast was buffet (did not inquire about menu options but also did not see them offered). Overall okay and what you would expect incl. freshly-made pancakes etc. I think you could also get eggs any choice. Croissants were good to me. What was a bit chaotic was that coffee was self-service (WMF machines?) and there were too few of these for too many people - also weird considering that they had staff running around (doing not much). Why not having staff bring the coffee?! Maybe one can ask and they do - I did not bother as I saw a “can” of filter coffee somewhere hidden and took just that.
They have a small lounge on ground floor which I did not have a chance to enjoy but in the evening there were some (3?) buffet-style choices of fingerfood + beer, wine and soft drinks.
Sorry, did not take any pictures but feel free to ask.

PS: stayed at Marriott Champs Élysée afterwards (not much more expensive in corporate rate) but review would be similar: small, old, clean, comfortable. No lounge though and coffee would be brought to table during breakfast. For this hotel I would have however expected more of breakfast and was thus disappointed."
