Adding onto what Chinmoylad said, which were all great points...
Having just stayed in the pavilion and villa in Dec:
We stayed in Villa #23. One of the originals and it was a 5 (or 6 bedroom) bedroom villa.
Our butler had another assistant + chef to look after us. All of our meals were completely customized to what we wanted. They would be happy to buy ingredients to make whatever meals we wanted.
And you can always order off of an Amanpuri menu. I don't think we really got to maximize the full benefit of the butler and chef because there were only the two of us. If you have a larger group, you're really going to feel the extra help and care that the butler team will provide.
But it was awesome that when we got up in the morning, our breakfast (ordered the pre night) were already setup by the butler and waiting for us. Reminded me a bit of my stay at The Brando. It was fantastic and felt like magic
There's almost no need to leave the villa. Almost. Except for going to the beach. The villas don't have their private beaches so you'll need to trek back to the main resort for beach access.
So we'd make our way to the beach club for lunch. Hang out on the beach for a few hours then head back to the villa for the rest of the afternoon/evening.
The villas are stunning and over the top but just wish they had their own beaches.
Last month, one of my clients just celebrate an anniversary at Amanpuri in a Villa. I booked them a villa at Puri (and Pulo as well) and they REALLY enjoyed it based on their feedback.
For a single couple, I think I would have to think hard about villa vs. pavilion. But for a group/family, I think villa is the clear choice at Puri.
Also, you can see a tour of our villa (and pavilion) on my Instagram's Amanpuri highlight. (IG: BESVISOR).
Enjoy and have a great time!!
