My "problem" is living in Honolulu. Going with another carrier is very inconvenient from a schedule/network standpoint. The "best" of the big 3 (Delta) would be the worst for me out of HNL in terms of network and convenience. It's the flyers that have alternate (and not inconvenient) choices that need to spank UA by leaving.

Well - I've got the same "problem". I'm not going to leave a carrier with a near 100% upgrade success rate on lie-flat seats and it wouldn't bother me if they served no meal to/from the West Coast since I don't eat it anyway - Southwest doesn't, and people seem to survive.

Agreed - I now live in a DL hub and even so it's almost always much easier to get to the islands on UA.
You Hawaiians and visitors thereto should be grateful you don't live on or visit Guam or Saipan. Talk about UA captives!
