I do personally think that the 2-2-2 is a pretty major drawback though. It's just hard to comprehend how brand new planes are still sporting this in this decade. (It's generally hard to comprehend this decade we're in). By no means in my opinion can LH compete with many other J products because of this.
I can agree to a lot of that. LH C certainly cannot be considered a current product. It would certainly be preferable if they would offer all-aisle access and it's bewildering to see that they first published renderings of their new C product in 2017 and still have not been able to come up with a live and real world version of that. I also agree that rolling out new planes with the dated hardware product appears to be a waste of money. LH itself even admitted to their product being outdated in a recent "What's cooking" webtalk. Appreciating all this, my case is their maintenance and soft product are still solid enough to make them quite an acceptable choice for their somewhat captive customers from the DACH-region, especially in the transatlantic market where they mainly compete with the US legacies as well as BA/IB and KL/AF.
Regarding doors, I am unfamiliar with the QR ones. I do know that I truly hate rattling ones and my experience is those do exist on other carriers.
