I am not too sure what you are trying to say. MPL is in Schegen area and Schengen rules apply.
I was answering the remark that only US and Canada request customs and immigration clearance at port of entry and gave examples and reasons.
I was not saying that there was ONE rule about international status of ultimate destination airport.
Rules vary country to country (except Schengen countries who follow the same rules).
Thailand is one example where the status of final destination airport matters, Australia is another example where the status of the final destination airport does NOT matter.
