Just go to the airport at the normal time, check in, and go back home.
On my last 3 hour delayed flight out of PHX, we couldn't get any information, but they did in fact close check in as normal, so 4 hours before the new flight departure home. Assume it would cost ££ to keep the desks open longer. I checked the bags and went back to the hotel for a few hours.
