What is the best way of using amex points, and can thst way beat the ay+ MC?

So amex plat gives 1000€ = 1000points. If you use that for paying the bill, it gives you 5€, so 0,5 % cashback.

If you instead use ay+ MC for 1000€, you get 2000 ay+ points which equals to 12,875 € if you value those points according to the price you pay during those recent +100% bonus campaigns.

So clearly ay+ is way better, and I don't see the point of using plamex after grinding their welcome bonus. Unless you guys show me some better value use for those amex points?
