Since I was going to an intl. connection - asked and was directed to go along with the EU citizens. This resulted in a quick check of my EU COVID certificate. So, if you have a EU COVID cert - tell them you have an international connection. That saves at least 1hr.

- This just puts you in the immigration hall. In there zero line for the E-gates, so EU citizens, UK & Japan citizens can get through in no time. Line for non-EU citizens (US included) is at least 2 hrs long. Didn't even try.

Off to the international area, where one can have an excellent bum shower (paper towels, cold water in the sink) and spend some time in a poorly air conditioned terminal (in particular areas around the 2 cafes are stiffling hot). If you are lucky - find an unused gate and hang there (until it opens and they kick you out).

Basically, if you are a US citizen, using LIS as a port of entry to Europe is a very bad idea. Will have another intl. to Schengen connection later (and then Schengen to international), so will report here - but not looking forward to it

BTW Tap flight from the US was weirdly a decent experience.
Thank you for the report. We have the EUDCC and so will ask for the EU line.

Were you flying TAP economy and so did not have access to the TAP or ANA lounge? Also do you not have Priority Pass and so no access to those lounges either?

We are flying J and hope to get into the TAP or ANA lounge if there's any time in our layover left over after passport control.
