But let us say there are no rooms that have acceptably strong wifi signals

Is there any technology devices one can bring to strengthen the weak wifi signal of a hotel/resort?

In our case, we are going to a nearby timeshare in the country this weekend.
We have been twice before- so overall the resort is good.
The resort has a good wifi signal in an outdoor sitting area next to the indoors reception desk of the registration area
But the units have poor wifi reception - so often there is either no conection or a very poor signal.

Some members of our party work were planning to come- they need to work much of the weekdays- but work involves virtual meetings and phone calls through the computer (VPN).
Because of the weak signal in the unit- they had the option of sitting outdoors in a public area, or not working at all if their work requires a quiet private environment..
So one person decided not to come - because she needs a private indoors quiet area to work with a strong wifi signal.
