I know some people, from the inside : Chocolates - not really, unless they are a specialty treat. Stuff like that Hershey crap ends up being trashed or someone takes it home for the kids. Apparently, covering the crew van tip … at a dollar each is a great gesture. Wrap a dollar note around a packet of gum or tic-tac, for example. Airline crews in America typically tip the hotel transport driver a dollar for loading/unloading their bags. From what I understand, airline crew flying on other airlines gets a great discount or flies for free - that’s where the reciprocal gifting comes in.
I know that if crews are working big holidays people will gift them something like Starbucks cards. That’s a neat idea, it’s like buying them a coffee for working the holiday.
Another great idea is taking the time to send in a compliment to their company. Everyone wants to be recognized for good service, right?
