They allowed elites to have breakfasts at either place. However during my Oct stay the restaurant breakfast was not any better than the lounge. The only reason I went down there on one morning was due to lounge at the 8th floor did not take egg order (they had to go down to the kitchen at ground floor to get it). But when I ordered a fried egg, the restaurant staff asked me whether I had lounge access, as if I did not. then the egg order would be an extra charge item!
Restaurant setting was very dark, few guests, foods were not any better.

Lounge was very nicely renovated when I stayed 5 nights last Oct. Much prefer having breakfasts at the lounge.

My problem with the hotel is that everyone apart from lounge staff is very rude, even by French standards. They also made me move to standard room on final day as I requested ‘guaranteed’ late check-out. They said this is the hotel policy if I wanted a late check-out. I negotiated then to stay till 7pm in the standard room, but it was painful. This is the only hotel in my whole life where I had to move to a different room the final day. I mean they then had to clean two rooms instead of one… more cost/time for them especially given that they outsource housekeeping!
Agreed. Front desk staff were generally impolite. Last Oct I used SNAs and cleared to full suite 3 days before arrival. They would not allow late check out even at 2pm only. I was actually moving to Kimpton which was on very near Opera House across from Intercontinental Le Grand. The concierge actually offered to call Kimpton to ask if they would let me check in early... feel a bit weird.

Housekeeping was hit or miss. 2 days they forgot to replenish bottled water. Housekeeping also was very late. On more than 1 day I returned at after 5pm and they either were still working or not touched the room yet! I just went up one floor to the lounge. Thankfully when I came back from the lounge, each time the suite was cleaned.
