I would agree with both of these points, gave the Marquis a couple of chances and will never return now and I'm not a fan of the BKK W. I would also suggest considering Marriott Sukhumvit - recently renovated, decent lounge food, decent location, pool is ok but not as nice as the St Regis or Athenee.
