I contact the call centre via email and was responded with the below message. Can any one confirm if the award ticket using Aeroplan miles are eligible as it was not clear also any experience with the Thank you for contacting EGYPTAIR.
With reference to your e-mail , kindly be informed that following instructions concerning hotel accommodation:
Customers eligible for hotel accommodation during transit time:

• Business class customers who are transit for six hours or more.

• Economy class customers holding E-ticket on subclass (Y,B) who are in transit for six hours or more.

• Economy class customers holding E-ticket on subclass other than (Y,B) who are in transit for eight hours or more.

• Customers holding codeshare e-ticket and arriving on flights operated by EGYPTAIR (same conditions mentioned above are applied).

Customers NOT eligible for hotel accommodation during transit time:

• Customers holding separate tickets.

• Customers holding e-tickets on discounted fares (50% and up).

• Customers holding interline e-tickets in case EGYPTAIR is delivering carrier and the sector operated by EGYPTAIR is less than USD 350.

• Groups holding e-tickets subclass (G).

General conditions:

• Hotel accommodation during transit time is available only at Cairo.

• Hotel accommodation provided for maximum 24 hours only.

• Hotel accommodation applied when customers are travelling from international to international flight.

• Hotel accommodation policy applied when customers arrive on last available flight and connection on the first available flight.

• Hotel accommodation provided according to room availability.

Accommodation in hotels outside the customs area is subject to the approval of the Egyptian national security, immigration authorities and customs authorities.
