This is a bit OT, but the standardization and smoothness of the (priority) boarding process was something I really appreciated when spending more time on CX (/KA, r.i.p.) flights pre-covid. Very well signposted, color-coded queues at the HKG home and ALL outstations I flew from: First + OWE (red), Biz + OWS + CX Silver (blue), PE + OWR (?) + CX Green and then the standard Economy line. Took countless flights, very rarely saw people in the wrong queues or causing hassle. Same system implemented and enforced system-wide with precision.

Also, this worked IMO in the way that priority boarding should work, i.e. if you showed up well after boarding had started, you still had your priority and could bypass lower priority queues by going through your empty queue. I reckon this is the intention of AY and many airlines, but the processes used just make this very difficult, especially in religiously egalitarian queueing cultures such as we have here in Finland However, CX gate agents were generally managing this super well also with great situational awareness and consideration for all pax.

Now I appreciate that HEL is also an airport with its own design deficiencies and not best suited for such an elaborate system due to lack of space among other things, but here's partly for nostalgia and partly hoping that an actual working system could be come up with an implemented system-wide. I would think that such would be the easiest for all pax and staff alike
