Well, dear, you may not have heard of it but the rest of us might.

Having spent a lot of my youth in the Brie/Champagne area of France (between Chateau-Thierry and La-Ferte-sous-Jouarre to be exact), I can assure you that some of the best Champagne in France does not always have a big brand label or bottle shape. Some of that bought from small producers who make their own Champagne (as opposed to providing the big manufacturers with the grapes) is a revelation.

We were sent for training years ago (at BCAL for 1st Class service) to Perrier-Joet whose Champagne is superb. All in all it is a matter of taste, and we have often been tempted to pour the CW champagne into the glasses for First and see who can tell the difference! Apart from the fact that your taste buds react totally differently above 7,000 ft, many people cannot tell one Champagne from another as lots of people do not drink it daily, and most often do not stick to one brand unlike Scotch or Gin.

If BA are being a little imaginative in their sourcing for Concorde - good! Can you remember?
