I had a triple upgrade at the indigo and loved the balcony and the views...
Indigo has lots of room types which are simply higher floors / views, in other words "room type inflation" so 3x upgrade means little to me. If you received the premium room type in the corner then I agree it's an upgrade worth something because that room is a bit bigger, however it remains much smaller than anything we can have at Kimpton, upgrade or not. Indigo is not in the same league as Kimpton although I liked the rooms at Indigo; if they had more suites and willingness to upgrade then I would stay more often. Once breakfast becomes an elite benefit at IHG starting next month, the gap between Kimpton and Indigo becomes bigger because the breakfast at Kimpton is one of the best in Bangkok. Last but not least, if Kimpton ever opens its lounge and allows access to Diamonds, then Indigo will be left back in the dust even more so.
