Personally, i'd get a car and drive up to Sedona and see some of the RedRock valleys in the mornings or evenings - and perhaps drive a stretch of the 66 to make a loop .

Whilst staying in Sedona for 3 nights might cost you more than your ticket you really should check out Sedona. It is beautiful (and cooler)
