Hilton Garden Inn Scottsdale Old Town is reasonably priced, has a pool, and walkable to all of Old Town Scottsdale, we found a map of outdoor art to look at, and that combined with a bit of time in the Mall passed a few hours. but as said, it will be hot hot in August. Sedona is cooler, we got a car via Turo and did a day trip and Jeep Tour.
