For years I have seen you all go off on TP runs and thought you were crazy, but finally I have succumbed to the madness and am flying OTP - PHX in August (yes, I know it will be hot...) to renew my Gold card for another year!

I am positioning the night before in OTP - can anyone recommend a hotel near to the airport that I can walk to (safely, if I go for the late flight that gets in at 00:30)?

I've never been to PHX before and will be there three nights. Given the August heat I suspect I will just want a hotel with a pool to enjoy. Any FT recommendations on where to stay would be welcome/must do things in the city would be very gladly received.
