Most burgers in the UK are terrible. They concentrate more on the "filler" rather than the meat. Remove the cheese, bacon and salad and pretty much everywhere has the same 1cm thick burger that you can get from any supermarket.
It's telling that you generally don't get asked how you would like your burger cooked in the UK.
Even in the diviest of dive bars in the US you'll get a better burger than virtually anywhere in the UK.
I recently had the burger in the EK F lounge at DXB. Absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, it filled me up so I had to skip the F meal on the way home
