Did you select a local language operator or an "english" one?

I'm having the same problem with my EMDs. I keep receiving an error message when trying to use them online.
Called Qatar and wasted over an hour of my life.
The customer service rep kept on putting me repeatedly on hold, despite getting the fare difference (new fare minus EMD value) initially right (about 50 Euros) she ultimately quoted an outlandish fare difference (over 1000 euros). She clearly seemed having difficulties coverting Korean Wons to Euros and viceversa.
To add insult to injury the price she quoted for the new ticket which was about 50Euros more expensive than the price for the exact same ticket on Qatar's website, checked real time. When pointed out, the customer rep was again completely clueless. I asked if it was due to booking fees applied for reservation over the phone, again clueless.
I ended up giving up, not because of the fare mark-up, but due to the customer rep's inability to process my request on the other end of the line.
I was never given an explanation so I'm not sure why I was kept on the phone for over an hour to begin with.
I'll try calling back tomorrow.
