That's interesting indeed. Perhaps you got lucky with a helpful frontdesk agent. The $$ limit isn't a "mistake" though - they are clearly being told to say this. And to be so bold and claim that Hyatt changed their policy, just unbelievable. When I later asked them in writing they retreated. They knew they couldn't put it in writing. It's just really poor property management in my opinion.
