number of clubs is meaningless without taking size into account.
example, ATL has some many clubs because of how small some are. The could easily consolidate down if money grew on trees. As for DTW, they have regular lines/waits just like every other hub SkyClub. Unless you think lines and waiting to get in = "too many clubs for the amount of flight it has"
Going down this road ends up with D1 one clubs becoming zoos like the SkyClub is.
Should be D1 and maybe 360s only. Anyone else can go to the SkyClub.
Other than new A43 club (which has obvious limits, but has A38 as an option right nearby), I've never seen people had to wait or get turned away for entrance to a DTW club because it was actually full. This is unlike some of the other lounges mentioned here (FLL lounge has been noted a few times). That said, DTW TATL flights are picking up for the season and if Asia flying ever returns to some semblance of normal, DTW could start having some capacity issues.
