I assume you mean that
AS was bookable with AA miles. It is possible that AS makes fewer award seats available to its non-oneworld partners than it does to its oneworld partners.
When you search for the UA flights on united.com, what is the mileage requirement shown? Does the display indicate that the flight is available as a "Saver Award"?
By the way, as I understand it, any KrisFlyer miles scheduled to expire in 2022 will automatically be extended in six-month increments, and will not expire until sometime in 2023.
