Outstanding service, diamond recongition, OK Location

Introduction This is an overdue review from my 2 night stay at the Conrad Beijing which occurred a few months before the pandemic that led to one of strictest closures of China to foreign tourists. I stayed here over a weekend, booked as a Diamond member through the www.hiltonhonorsaspirecard.com which provided a $100 property credit during my stay. I used the credit for dinner at 29 Grill for both nights. Diamond recognition at this hotel was another plus. I booked a King Room and was upgraded to an Executive Corner Room, which was fine for a weekend stay as the hotel was pretty busy. This was part of my first trip to China a few months before the pandemic. I was very impressed by this Conrad and cannot wait to return sometime in the future when allowed. Check In Check in was pretty smooth and quick. I checked beforehand regarding suites which were not available before and still not available on day of check in through the Hilton honors app. Front desk apologized although it was not needed, and confirmed the upgrade to a high floor corner room. They also mentioned the diamond member benefits which included breakfast at Chapter or breakfast at the executive lounge. As other reviewers mentioned, the interior of the building looks completely different what you would expect by looking at the exterior of the hotel. Room Although the room was not a suite, it was still spacious enough and met my expectations of a Conrad room. The bed was very comfortable and looked more like a California King bed instead of a standard king bed. Plenty of table space and chairs to do any work, as well as sofa to lounge as watch a film, if that’s your thing. Bathroom included a tub, rainfall shower, single sink and toilet. Service The service here was phenomenal and the attention to detail was strong across all levels of the hotel. From the front desk, concierge, F&B, and the executive lounge team, the staff always put in 200% of their effort to make sure my stay was going to my preferences. I would say the two highlights of my stay here would be the Lounge and the Concierge. The employees at the Lounge were just so lovely and filled with energy. Speaking to me for long periods of time during each visit, making sure I was full of food (LOL) and had enough drinks. They really made the stay personable which was very kind of them. The concierge here arranged the private roundtrip transfer for my Day-hike to the Great Wall - which was very memorable. Dining Where do I start with dining? I was only here for 2 days and it seemed they provided enough food choices and quantity that could make me stay here for a month. There was so many delicious, healthy traditional, American, oriental choices to choose from. All you had to do was just ask, and they would somehow get the dish prepared by the chef to your liking. Again, 10/10. Looking at the food pictures here, you can tell it was amazing. The Lounge choices were endless, and breakfast at the lounge was again more oriented to how I wanted breakfast done, whereas Chapter was more buffet style. 29 Grill had delicious steak and sides which is shown in the pictures. Overall This was hotel was a solid 9.5/10 when I visited. Looking forward to visiting again when entry requirements allow me, and I hope the staff and service remains the same top notch quality as it had been.
