SFO to Berkeley and vice versa is not as easy as you make it out to be; it's easily at least an hour, and you have to deal with transfers. This also sounds like the most miserable thing ever, and you won't get to make any friends in your program, and Berkeley is a really nice place to live in, as someone who did undergrad there. Other considerations include office hours, BART delays, etc...
