As I was in central Auckland looked at options to get to the airport, decided to use public transport. So got the train from Britomart bottom Queen Street and got off at Puhinui Station and the onto the 380 Airport bus to the terminals. Took 40 mins total, trains and buses are frequent so I would expect worse case 60 mins. In the future could really see a check-in at Britomart and Puhunui for flights working really well. The whole rail system in Auckland seems to be well connected. Cannot now figure what is the need for a new light rail when the connection exists and could be significantly improved with not a great deal of capital cost.
What time of day?
The corridor for the light rail is different to current rail. It isn't solving solely CBD to airport transport issues.
Also what does this have to do with AirNZ?
