I asked how do I know if a property is participating. He said I'd have to call the manager of the property. After many circular arguments I gave up and sent an email complaint. The rep also told me that I didn't get to choose a welcome amenity because "Residence inn already offers breakfast". Which makes no sense either but I've given up now. Also when I checked in I asked for a 2 queen room, was told it was available but that would be an "upgrade" abd the fee would be $15. I said aren't I supposed to get free upgrades when available but the girl was clearly not in charge so I let it go.
The late checkout benefit has become a moving target that depends on phases of the moon and whether the stock market is up or down that day.

Marriott's latest interpretation is: the property is a convention or resort hotel if either those words appear on its website.
As a welcome amenity you should have received 500 points or one F&B item. You were denied and are entitled to $50.00 cash payment. Did you make the claim before checking out?
