My guess is you're representing a very small slice of the pie at EWR. Over the years, I bet I could count the number of passengers I saw walking from B to C on both hands, if not just one. By contrast, I've seen hundreds at least take the AirTrain to do the same transfer.
Similar to my observations as well. Probably most people aren't aware of the walking path since all of the signage leads to the AirTrain.
I only discovered it earlier this year after getting fed up with taking yet another packed AirTrain, and was pleased to find how simple it was.
