Obviously I have no experience to offer. I have had the same thoughts though, albeit I have a longer way to Lumo than you.
On the con-side are the difficulties to use the upgrades. Also, there is a limited network, so even if AY suddenly improves the lumo experience there are few flights to draw benefits from.
On the pro-side I only find vanity reasons, like wanting to be included in the limited club, getting the bag and such.

You can't dismiss vanity reasons 'just because', they are valid too. But if there is very little tangible on the pro-side, then you should at least make yourself aware that you are doing it for vanity. Knowing that going into it prevents feeling regret later I guess.

If I was 50k short I would likely do it, but I would first need to set my expectations straight as most likely there would be zero benefits to me and major agony over not being able to use any of the upgrades.
