I'm flying CDG-AMS-JFK in J in couple months (all flights on KL metal). Originally I had the earliest possible AMS-CDG (in Y) positioning flight booked on a separate ticket/PNR. That last itinerary has now been cancelled and rebooked automatically to the later flight, which means it has now become a direct turn-around with the CDG-AMS flight being the same airplane.

Traveling with a checked bag and looking at the experiences in several threads makes me wonder... Getting it checked through will certainly mean it NOT getting on the CDG-AMS flight, since it is the same airplane. Getting the bag at CDG and re-checking has become impossible, since KLM involuntarily changed the flight schedule.

Checking in at AMS: does anyone have any experience with getting KL ground staff (SkyPriority) to check the bag to JFK immediately, without it having to go to CDG and back first?
