Another wonderful visit to SAN to see my family, great flight outbound on the 350…. Wonderful aircraft, great suites, real upgrade for the route, no faults at all.
Returning over the weekend to be greeted by [crew member name redacted] who seems to have dropped all aspects of wanting to deliver the service and now seems to spend her entire flight phone in hand focusing on getting shots and videos for social media.
Let me explain….
Aircraft slightly late in…. Crew at gate, photo shoot begins.. several minutes of snapping away meaning gate staff cannot get to the podium to conduct their duties.
What really bothers me is when the aircraft is late and the crew are cleared to go on, go on and get things done…. This woman is constantly clicking away taking pictures and videos,
On board, wonderful service by [crew member name redacted], a lovely warm greeting, go to the restroom to change to get comfy for the flight and guess who is filming a video, [crew member name redacted] … talking to the phone about the galleys on 350. If I see this posted with me I will be making an official complaint to BA.
Again in flight, wonderful service by [crew member name redacted], but it’s just constant. [crew member name redacted] is on her phone taking pictures and videos of literally everything.
Final straw for me was her clearly recording herself delivering the welcome to LHR message.
Think the question I went away thinking, ‘Does she want to be a social media star or a member of cabin crew.’ Because on this flight and my last one with her it’s clear she has no interest in being crew…
what is the BA policy on crew posting social media from their flights..,. I deleted my socials a few months ago and don’t miss them at all. My company policy is very clear, not in work time or anything involving work, but I would love to know what BAs policy is and if she is breaching them.
This is really interesting to read as I was on this flight too as didn’t witness events unfold quite as you have described.
Firstly the photo at the gate was because our aircraft wasn’t ready. The gate staff were sat waiting for something to do and I’m pretty sure it was actually one of them that offered to take the photo of the crew. They clearly have a nice working relationship which is always nice to see!
I fly to the west coast frequently for work and have actually come across this crew member a number of times before and nothing could be further from the truth regarding her attitude towards the passengers and service. She has aways been attentive and helpful. Nothing is ever too much trouble - even the countless green teas I ask for while flying. This trip was no different. She was actually much nicer than my crew I had on my outbound but we won’t go into that.
From what you’ve written OP I’m wondering if you were the passenger that myself and my colleague observed having quite a nasty turn when the champagne wasn’t available for the boarding drinks? If so it’s a bit much to post untruths about someone who is clearly just enjoying their career while providing great service. I do follow her instagram and I’ve never seen anything ever taken when passengers are on board. I’m pretty sure she knows the rules of her own company especially with how many years service she has with them!
Im also sure BA are well aware of not only her social media thousands of other crews pages as they are often seen to share photos or posts by their own staff across their various socials.
I’ve had the pleasure of sitting in most areas of the club world cabin especially on the airbus and I would be interested to know where you were seated to be able to see into the galley to watch her make the announcement on landing. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to see that far into the galley so if you could let me know I’d love to be able to see the masters at work next time. 😊
Judging from what you’ve posted before on this thread I am curious as to whether you have a bit of a personal vendetta against this lady?
I mean I wish I had that many instagram followers too but that’s no reason to be petty. She’s one of the best crew members I’ve come across with BA and I’ve flown with them a lot so that’s saying something!
