Hi, I'm a Air Canada Super Elite member (highest status at Air Canada) which is Star Alliance Gold. I'm thinking of getting a reward ticket for early June from BER to LYS (Berlin to Lyon).

I will have two regular checked luggage and a bicycle in a bicycle bag.

With Air Canada, I get sports equipment free.

With Lufthansa with that flight, would it be free for Gold Star Alliance members?

Would it make a difference with an Economy or a Business fare?

I tried the luggage calculator and it tells me I have to pay $120 for the bike. But I'm sure I read before somewhere with Lufthansa, Gold Star member don't have to pay a bike fee. ???
