It is required on JAL, and while they may not go full United & Dr Dao on you if you are blatantly flouting the mask rules, they will kindly remind you. Even in first class. Maybe less so now than earlier in the pandemic, but it is still an instructions from the crew.
Thanks! Exactly what I thought. If left to my own devices I'd wear a mask for boarding and deplaning, when out of my seat, and when interacting with the cabin crew, but wouldn't wear one when in my first class seat, as I think it's far enough away from other passengers that the air circulation system would function to force any air I exhale toward the floor and out to be expunged or filtered before it comes close to another passenger. But, not looking to be "that guy" and will gladly comply. Thanks!
