Red face European "Gifts"
When I sent some software to my sister in Brussels earlier this year via FedEx overnight, I marked "Unsolicited Gift Item" on the outside (per FedEx recommendations), we had no problems with duties. I don't know the dollar/euro cut-off for duties, but for a recomended $30 gift everyone sending to Europe should be fine.
