Yes - see guide to benefits which specifies this, and only requires a portion of the cost to be paid by the card. Believe reimbursement is given at $0.015/mile (unless that's changed) - as they can't actually reimburse mileage directly, of course.
This is one place where Chase is better than others. Amex is vague at best (it's clear you need to pay for the entire amount of the ticket with the card, with limited exceptions such as in combination with vouchers from the airline/ff program - though I forget the exact language - but I consider using amex plat to pay for taxes on an award as having no coverage unless/until I see concrete examples of coverage being granted in the real world. Honestly not sure how Cap1 insurance treats that kind of situation.
