Hey everyone,
I put together a short(ish) step-by-step guide on redeeming Amex, Capital One, and Citi points through transfer partners to get the most value out of the points. (I'll make a separate video about Chase soon.)
This came about from feedback I got on a spreadsheet I made a few months ago that compares a number of different travel card setups and calculates which setup will earn you the most points/net value based on your spending habits (see this thread:
New Tool for Calculating and Comparing Travel Credit Card Rewards). The spreadsheet makes use of the fact that you can get much more value from the points if you redeem them through transfer partners, but a number of people told me that they didn't really know how to do that effectively, so I made this guide to walk through the general procedure. I'm sure a lot of the information in the video is familiar to the pros here at flyertalk, but if you have friends that are interested in learning the basics about travel cards, points/miles, transfer partners, and high-cpp redemptions, please share this with them!
Thanks!
