I'm posting this for a friend..

Friend just achieved 25k status today, due to some promo segments posting. She has an AC-marketed and operated flight on Tuesday and would like to select a regular (not preferred) seat (for free) ASAP. She is on an economy standard fare and my understanding is that that is a status benefit (though the website is kind of light on details so I may be mistaken)

The website still wants to charge her. She called in, agent saw she was still being charged, and agreed to remove and re-add the FF number. That didn't help.

So, what does she need to do? Or is this not a status benefit for 25k?
