1. Too easy to make Diamond Honors. Should be clear separation (they say there is, but in reality it is not followed) from Lifetime Diamond made with paid stays/nights v credit card earners
2. Lifetime benefits - I’m now about 98% annual stays with Marriott properties due to better % upgrades and (I know I’m fortune here) a dedicated Ambassador that helps me especially in Europe with suite upgrades/arrival amenities
3. Lack of full service/luxury properties. Conrad seems to have an identity problem. Waldorf is nice, but hard to find. As such, I’ve transferred all my luxury and near luxury nights to Marriott with St Regis, JW, Luxury and Autograph collection
4. This is very specific to me, but lack of full service hotels in Greece and somewhat in Italy. Ones that do seem quite nice (Adelph as an example) rip you off with points redemption
